Macramé with a modern spin! Create your own beautiful and unique wall hanging and bring texture and life to your space. A new take on an old 70's fad, macramé wall hangings, plant hangers and more give character and texture to the walls of contemporary and mid-century modern homes. In this workshop, you will learn some basic knots and techniques to create your own 10” x 35” macramé wall hanging made from 3 strand 3/16” (5mm) natural un-dyed cotton. You will leave with a finished wall hanging and a mind filled with inspiration! All supplies are provided including natural un-dyed cotton rope and a choice between a found branch or a straight wooden dowel for your wall hanging. Instructional video links will also be provided to all participants after the workshop. For Beginners. No experience necessary.

Natalie Ranae is a self-taught macramé artist who made her first plant hanger and didn’t look back. She fell in love with the craft and made a career from it, teaching workshops all over Ontario, selling original designs on her website, and creating large-scale custom orders for clients. Natalie is an internationally published author and her book "Macramé at Home" includes 20+ macramé projects for beginners and beyond. She splits her time working out of her home studio surrounded by her three cats and a co-working studio for creatives that she co-founded with her best friend Jenn, called Kindred Loft. Graduating from OCAD University with a bachelor’s degree in design, Natalie majored in and is also a professional jeweler and metalsmith. She has never limited herself to one form of creating and loves goldsmithing, knitting, crocheting, woodworking and whatever else she decides she wants to learn. Her unique approach to design and her attention to detail are consistent across any medium she works in. When she isn’t making or working on growing her business, Natalie spends her time tackling DIYs with her husband on their 100-year-old house, volunteering locally and watering the jungle of plants in her home. Who says you can’t be a crazy cat and plant lady?!
